Are you too busy for two dental visits?

We love having the CEREC solution in our practice because our PATIENTS love it! Why? Because before, crowns were completed in multiple visits. During the first visit, after a tooth impression was taken, a dental lab made the crown while you wore a temporary crown for a couple of weeks. CEREC crowns are completed in one visit. And, they’re not only faster, but they’re beautiful and strong too.

What is CEREC?

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CERamic REConstruction. Translated, it means that a we can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

Some dvantages with CEREC:

  • No unplesant impression material
  • No follow-up appointments
  • No bothersome temporary prostehsis

How does the instrument work?

CEREC uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. A special camera is used to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where we use CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, we bond the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process takes about one hour.

Plan for 2-3 hours total. We prepare your tooth, take digital scans, design the crown using CEREC® technology, mill it onsite, and bond it—all in one visit. You’ll have breaks during the process. Most patients finish in time for lunch! No temporary crown, no second appointment. Perfect for busy Rancho Cucamonga schedules.

Same-day crowns are completed in one 2-3 hour visit using CEREC® technology (digital scan, design, mill onsite). Traditional crowns require two visits weeks apart with a temporary crown in between. Same-day crowns use high-quality ceramic/zirconia materials, look natural, and last 10-15+ years. Both are durable—same-day offers convenience without compromising quality.

We use local anesthesia to keep you completely comfortable during tooth preparation. Most patients feel no pain—just pressure. Afterward, mild sensitivity for 1-2 days is normal (manageable with OTC pain relievers). Many patients say same-day crowns are easier than expected. We prioritize your comfort throughout the entire process at our Rancho Cucamonga office.

Same-day CEREC® crowns last 10-15+ years with proper care—similar to traditional crowns. They’re made from high-strength ceramic or zirconia, highly resistant to wear and staining. Longevity depends on oral hygiene, avoiding hard foods (ice, nuts), not using teeth as tools, and regular dental visits. We provide care instructions to maximize your crown’s lifespan.

Same-day crowns work for most patients needing crowns due to decay, fractures, large fillings, or cosmetic improvements. Not suitable for: severe grinding (without nightguard), insufficient tooth structure, or certain bite issues. During your consultation, we’ll examine your tooth and determine if same-day or traditional crowns best suit your needs. We’re honest about what works best.
